    TAMTA Sonatina Competition

    TAMTA Sonatina Competition

     

    PURPOSE

    Give students the opportunity to perform an entire Sonatina and compete for trophies in Level A and cash awards in Levels I, II, III, IV, and V.
    ​First place winners may not compete in that level again. They may move up to the next level.

    PRIZES

    Level A: no cash awards, but trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

    Level I: 1st place – $30

    Level II: 1st place – $40

    Level III: 1st place – $50

    Level IV: 1st place – $60

    Level V: 1st place – $70

    Trophies will be given to all 2nd and 3rd place winners. Honor Awards will receive medallions.

    $30 per student

    REQUIREMENTS
     Perform an entire multi-movement Sonatina by memory. No Viennese Sonatinas.

    For a list of current approved Sonatinas, please see the TAMTA roster. Teachers wishing to submit a Sonatina not listed may send a photo copy of the Sonatina to the Sonatina Chair for approval before October 1, 2024.
